When I was stocking up on acrylic supplies for my studio, I stumbled across some gorgeous holographic acrylic. I'm a sucker for anything shiny and rainbow, so I absolutely had to bring some home with me The only problem: I had no idea what project to use it in. After days of wondering how to bring some holographic fun into my work, I decided to push the brainstorming aside and return to my Halloween product planning (tis the season!). Little did I know, while I was preparing to cut some spooky new designs, the perfect holographic project was right in front of me! A skeleton hand drawing that I had mocked up to go on clear acrylic would look absolutely perfect on holographic instead. Of course I would discover this on accident, instead of in my hours of dedicated brainstorming. I would be upset if I wasn't so distracted by the beautiful Halloween earrings that came from my struggle.

Enough of their stressful backstory, let's talk about the wonderful skeleton hand earrings that you see in this listing. These earrings are made by cutting and etching a hand-drawn original design out of a sheet of acrylic. The design featured on these earrings is a skeleton hand with detailed bones. As you have probably gathered, the earrings aren't cut from any old acrylic. They are made from a beautiful clear acrylic with a holographic finish. Personally, I feel that the holographic looks a little bit more like a shiny purple/blue color-shifting. Although the appearance of the acrylic is difficult to capture on camera, the pictures do an accurate job of showing it. To get the unique black detailing on the earrings, metallic black paint is rubbed into etching on the acrylic by hand. Any excess is wiped off, leaving crisp lines that make the earrings pop. Matching jump rings and ear wires are added to each earring, which are made of nickel-free metal.

Everyone's ears are unique, so I make an effort to include accurate sizing to help you decide whether or not these earrings are for you. The entire earring is 2 inches long and 0.75 inches wide. The acrylic skeleton hand is 1 inch long, 0.75 inches wide, and 0.125 inches thick. The drop length, which is the length between the top of the ear wire and the top of the acrylic piece, is 1.125 inches long.
